Mowing Schedule + Perfect Amount to Trim
• One of the most important things you can do to maintain a green yard is mowing. Mowing should be done frequently, preferably in the early morning or late afternoon when the sun’s rays are not as direct. Be careful not to cut your grass down too far as that may cause damage. One-third of an inch is a suitable amount.
Fertilization Schedule
• Fertilizing is also key to an enviably green lawn. The best times to fertilize are once in the spring, once in the summer, and once in the fall before you turn off your water. Not only does fertilizing green up your yard, but it minimizes weed growth and strengthens the grass’s ability to soak up water as well. Revive is a great lawn treatment we personally use.
Aerate
• Another useful maintenance activity is aeration. Aerating your lawn can help air, water and nutrients pass through to the grass roots, which results in the increased overall health and greenness of your lawn.

• And of course: water, water, water! How often you should water depends on the amount of precipitation we’ll get this spring and summer, but the important thing is that your lawn never goes too long without moisture. On the flip side, you want to prevent over-watering, it’s bad enough that over 80% of our outdoor water usage goes to waste.
