Can we get a “HO HO HO!” a “Fa-la-la” and maybe a “jingle all the way?” We take the holiday season very seriously at All Terrain. Just check out our holiday light installation services if you don’t believe us. And because we want you to have a holly jolly Christmas as much as the next guy, we thought we’d compile a list of some must-go-to holiday activities in northern Colorado:
Garden of the Lights
When: Dec. 2, 2016 – Jan. 8, 2017, 5-9 p.m.
Where: The Gardens on Spring Creek, 2145 Centre Ave., Fort Collins
What: As folks who know their Christmas lights, we can honestly say that the Garden of the Lights is something to “ooh” and “aah” about. The Gardens can create anything out of holiday lights, including dinosaurs, a John Deere tractor, a flower pot and just about anything else you can imagine.
Ice Skating at The Pond at Foothills Mall
When: Wednesdays-Sundays, ongoing
Where: Foothills Mall, 215 E Foothills Pkwy., Fort Collins
What: Ever long for a Serendipity-style holiday ice skating moment with your sweetie? We’re willing to bet that the brand new ice skating rink at Foothills Mall can make all your visions come true.
Greeley Grizwalds
When: Nov. 25, 2016 – Jan. 1, 2017, 5:30-10 p.m.
Where: 354 50th Avenue Court, Greeley
What: You might want to bring sunglasses for this light show. This Greeley family has strung 135,000 lights all around their home and powered them to dance with a music soundtrack. Tune into 92.9 FM to get in the holiday groove.
Anheuser-Busch Brewery Lights
When: Nov. 17-Dec. 30, Thursdays – Sundays, 5-10 p.m.
Where: 2351 Busch Drive, Fort Collins
What: Tis the season for a mug of beer and some Clydesdales. Enjoy s’mores, a holiday tree maze, digital light show and more festive fun at the Biergarten at Anheuser-Busch.
Downtown Fort Collins Santas Quest
When: Ends Dec. 11
Where: Downtown Fort Collins
What: Join in on Downtown Fort Collins’s scavenger hunt shenanigans for a chance to win a $1,000 DBA gift card. Visit the 28 participating businesses in downtown to find their Santa figurines and turn in your tracking sheet to win big.
Lights for Habitat
When: Nov. 26, 2016 – Jan. 1, 2017
Where: 321 and 325 Albion Way, Fort Collins
What: What’s better than enjoying a spectacular lighting display and helping out a local nonprofit? Not much. The Blenkers Family was the 33rd family to buy a Fort Collins Habitat home in 2007, and since 2009 they have paid it forward by decorating their home with 50,000 lights for the community to enjoy. Plus, they collect donations for Habitat and have raised $11,000 (and counting!).
Polar Bear Run & Plunge
When: January 21, 10a.m.
Where: Horsetooth Reservoir, Fort Collins
What: Enjoy a beautiful scenic run around the reservoir with views of Fort Collins Foothills. After your run show us how brave you are and take the dive into icy water! Not feeling that hardcore? Grab some hot chocolate, a beer from Odell Brewery or a Horsetooth Hot Sauce Bloody Mary and join the spectators area to watch all the brave souls.
Estes Park Winter Festival
When: Jan. 14 & 15, 2017, 12-4 p.m.
Where: Estes Park Events Complex, 1209 Manford Ave., Estes Park
What: We know this isn’t technically a holiday event, but it’s cool enough to still mention. This event features chili, wine and beer, live music and family-friendly activities. In other words, everything you need for a fantastic post-holiday celebration.
We’re wishing you a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Happy Kwanzaa, fabulous Winter Solstice and an overall wonderful holiday season!
